Czech leader in recycling technologies
We are LAVARIS, a leading Czech company in the field of recycling technologies. We specialize in grinding and crushing waste materials and transform waste into valuable raw materials. Our technologies are energy-saving, mobile and usable in various industries for recycling a wide range of materials. We focus on research and development, collaborate with academic institutions, support young talents and develop international partnerships to innovate recycling processes.
My collaboration with Lavaris started completely by chance. Mr. Director Karraá, like myself (despite our age), enjoys playing football. After many months of regular games, he once asked me: 'I know you’ve been working with fragrances for a long time and that you collaborate with manufacturers in this field. Would it be possible to completely remove the scent or odor from a particular material?' He was right in both cases—our group, together with colleagues from Aroma, holds the Czech record for the longest collaboration between an academic institution (VŠCHT Prague) and an industrial company (Aroma Prague), which has lasted uninterrupted for over 50 years. We solved the task quickly, ecologically, and economically. The solution also makes use of what was once an unpleasant waste, now serving as a valuable raw material in another production process. We are truly looking forward to further collaboration with Lavaris!"
Prof. Ing. Libor Červený, DrSc., VŠCHT
"The company LAVARIS is not only a technological innovator focused on materials that are considered unrecyclable by other companies, but it also brings an essential topic of ecological design. In the Reborn Design competition, it offers a crucial perspective that approximately 80% of the environmental impact of a product can be influenced during the manufacturing and design stages. In this area, the company is running a fundamental campaign in the Czech Republic, which has been notably lacking. I greatly appreciate the work of the entire team, which I have been following since the founding of INCIEN. At the same time, LAVARIS is involved in a number of research projects with Czech academic institutions, which provides significant insights and credibility to its activities, earning various awards, including prestigious ministerial competitions."
Ing. Soňa Klepek Jonášová, Founder INCIEN
"Plastenco's product eco-design studio has been collaborating with the technological company Lavaris for a long time, thanks to their proven professionalism and ability to flexibly address project challenges. In a consortium with the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University, we are working on a research project focused on developing a technology for large-format 3D printing using recycled plastic. The partnership with Lavaris is crucial to achieving Plastenco's business goals – through this collaboration, we can develop new products based on the principles of circular economy.
Equally important is the joint organization of the Reborn Design student challenge since 2022. The technologists at Lavaris can handle secondary materials, from which students design new products."
Jitka Hvězdová, Founder & CEO of PLASTENCO
"Lavaris, with its research capacity and wide range of technologies, is a fantastic partner for us in exploring material uses for waste processing. I definitely recommend the company."
Cyril Klepek, Founder and Chairman of the Board, Cyrkl Resource Platform s.r.o.
"Cooperation with LAVARIS s.r.o. has been very beneficial for us. The professionalism, willingness, and constructive approach of the company's staff were an integral part of the entire collaboration, from the specification of tasks in the reuse of various types of secondary raw materials to the design of technical solutions that met our needs. The expertise and technical skills of LAVARIS s.r.o. employees in the field of material recycling help us create conditions for fulfilling the goals of the Research Institute for Building Materials, a.s., where 'responsible research' is the path and 'a secure future' is our common goal. We greatly value our cooperation with LAVARIS s.r.o., and given our experience and the focus of our research, we look forward to further collaboration in finding new solutions that contribute to the sustainable development of society."
Ing. Zdeněk Krejza, PhD. - VÚSH
I would like to express my positive experience of working with the company Lavaris. I personally consider it to be very inspiring, especially due to the connection between the academic sphere and industry. Together, we focus on current R&D topics in the field of material recycling and seek new ways to achieve sustainability. I am convinced that new technologies and materials will be in high demand in the future. I appreciate the company's friendly and professional approach, and I am glad that we can contribute together to the development of material processing and its reuse.

"Lavaris and George Karra'a are pioneers in several areas related to recycling and the secondary use of raw materials. In recent years, we have supported some of their innovative projects and technologies, and we are following with interest how they are gradually finding their way to customers and the market. The company's products can significantly contribute to sustainability and the reduction of material and energy intensity in both the economy and industry, not only in the Czech Republic."
Pavel Jovanovič - CEO, Central Bohemian Innovation Centre
"We would like to express our satisfaction with Lavaris for their innovative approach to drywall recycling. Thanks to their innovative methods, we were able to start using recycled construction waste in our drywall production, thus significantly contributing to environmental protection. The collaboration with them was professional from start to finish, and their team was always ready to provide expert advice and support. We appreciate their commitment to sustainable development and wholeheartedly recommend Lavaris to anyone looking for an innovative partner in the field of construction material recycling."
Ing. Radomír Kamler, Operations Director, SAINT-GOBAIN
"We have been collaborating with Lavaris for over 10 years. The main area of cooperation is rubber recycling, where the company was able to prepare active rubber powder of any grain size from the supplied rubber granulate. The collaboration was not limited to grinding rubber but also extended to grinding other materials usable in the rubber industry, such as nutshells.
We highly value the cooperation with the company for their willingness to search for and find solutions to our and other requests. A key role in this is played by Ing. George Karra’a. His creative activity goes beyond the usual level and has always been beneficial to us. It is no coincidence that the cooperation has led to not only interesting publications but also solutions for technological vouchers and recognition from the Ministry of the Environment."
Doc. Ing. Antonín Kuta, CSc., Institute of Polymers, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (VŠCHT Prague)
"We have been successfully cooperating with Lavaris s.r.o. since the beginning of 2023, when we initiated a business partnership within the Reborn Design competition for young designers. Since then, we have been working together on waste recycling programs from our business and products. What we particularly appreciate about this collaboration is Lavaris' technological sophistication and the ideas they bring forward. In today's world, where the transition to a circular economy is almost a necessity, the ability to recycle and transform waste into secondary raw materials is crucial for us. Lavaris s.r.o. has fully met our expectations in this regard and has become our permanent partner."
Jiří Tyl, EHS Manager BAT CZ, SK & HU

Ing. Ľubomír Švantner, Chairman of the Board of Enviro Lieskovec, a.s.
"After more than six years of experience, I would characterize Lavaris as follows: A company where substance is as important as form, and the result is the most important. A place where solutions are sought to reach the goal, and flexibility is balanced with a systematic approach.
In short, Lavaris delivered everything we agreed upon, even though it initially seemed like science fiction. Recycling here takes on a tangible and practically useful character."
Ing. Miroslav Nyč, Head of Product Management, KNAUF Praha
"Lavaris is a company where passion for the circular economy, quality research, and continuous innovation come together. And that's what makes it successful! I would like to thank you for the cooperation so far, it is clear that you approach everything honestly and thoroughly. Keep it up!"
